Q: What's so special about our strings?
A: The price. It's really simple—we sell high-quality Martin strings at low prices. We buy them in bulk and bag them ourselves. No foo-foo packaging—just great strings delivered to your doorstep.

Q: Why should I buy my strings at StringThis.com?

Q: How do you ship your strings?
A: Straight, not coiled like you see in stores. This makes it easier for you to put on your guitar. We ship them in heat-sealed bags. We then slip them into a priority mail box, pack it with some newspaper so they have a safe trip, and send them to you via the U.S. postal service.

If you purchase a storage tube (which many musicians like to store their strings in), we'll ship you the strings in that via priority mail.

Q: Will my online order be secure?
A: We use Yahoo Store, and placing an order with stringthis.com is as safe (or safer) as shopping at your local store. Want proof? Here's the security policy for Yahoo Store:

All online transactions at Yahoo! Stores are handled with industry-standard SSL encryption. When you enter your credit card number into the order form, it is transmitted across the Internet in an encrypted (scrambled) form, then decoded when it gets to us.

For added security, we also encrypt the credit card number when it is stored on disk, and when we forward it to the merchant.

If you are not the kind of person who worries about being hit by lightning as you're crossing the street, you probably don't have to worry that your credit card number will be intercepted on the way to a secure Web site.

We order products online all the time, both as a company and as individuals. When we use a credit card to buy something online, we feel at least as safe as we would using one in a store or restaurant.

A: All the time. We ship anywhere in the world—to England, Australia, Canada, you name it. (We don't ship international orders via priority mail.)

STRING GUARANTEE
Q: What if I'm not happy with my strings?
A: We're confident you'll be happy with them, but if you're not, e-mail us. We'll replace your product or give you your money back.

We may ask that you ship the unused portion of your order back to us. When returning product for any reason, the customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. On the off chance that we sent you something different from what you ordered, we will compensate you for the return shipping.

Despite the fact that we have a "no questions asked" return policy, we still may ask you questions to try and improve our customer service.

Q: How do I know which gauge I need?
A: It's all a matter of personal choice. Gauge refers to the thickness of strings. The lighter the gauge, the easier the string is to play. But the thicker gauges produce more volume and sustain longer.

And now some questions that aren't frequently asked but are pretty funny.

Q: Will your strings make me sound better?
A: We can't promise they'll make you play better, but you'll surely sound better.

Q: What am I going to do with 12 sets of strings? I only change my strings once a year.
A: Share them with your friends. Share them with your band. And at prices this good, you might think about changing your strings more often.

Q: What can you do about my annoying bandmate who always steals my E string?
A: We can't do anything about them—sorry—but we will sell you single strings by the dozen so you can always have one on hand for them.
